The writer behind PB
I write personal essays about family: the fathers and mothers we are given, the patterns passed from one generation to the next, and the slow work of claiming a voice of one’s own.
Some of these stories are painful. I write them anyway, because putting a hard memory on the page is how I loosen its grip. Some of them are funny, because surviving a family often takes a sense of humor. All of them are true as I lived them.
Putting a hard memory on the page is how I loosen its grip.
About Estaki Editions
Estaki Editions is an independent imprint for long-form personal writing. It publishes the essays and stories of Ann Estaki: honest accounts of family, of the patterns passed from one generation to the next, and of the slow work of claiming a voice of one’s own. Every piece is presented the way a feature appears in a literary magazine, meant to be read slowly and in full.
